AYSA at WordCampNYC

On Saturday morning, I helped lead the “Newbie” track. If you’ve ever attended one of AYSA’s How to Wordpress classes, imagine that…. times 12. With a room of 80 people, sketchy wifi, a year of free hosting and sketchy wifi, we spent four hours trying to impress the wonder of WordPress. Definitely a different format from AYSA, and everyone was very

Can someone really learn “How to Blog”?

Clearly, having a blog can help your website in a slew of ways: if done right, you can increase return visitors, keep your clients attention and help establish your brand. When done right, a blog is one of the quickest ways to help propel your SEO (that’s search engine optimization) so customers and clients can find you easier.

But coming up with what to say on your blog is sometimes overwhelming. Figuring out how often to post, or how to format your post is a tricky thing they really didn’t teach in school. How do you learn the etiquette of blogging… how to link to images, and which images you’re allowed to use- what you can review or how to interact with other bloggers?

The answer is that when you have the tips and tricks, blogging becomes easier. This class will help you develop a plan for your blog and help you develop into a proficient blogger. So register today, and we can’t wait to see you in our “How to Blog” class. Click above to register.

What is a Content Management System?

Websites are made up of code and graphics, no more. So in order to have a website, you need to know how to code and how to get your images and logos, etc just the right size and format. Oh, and how to upload them, and where to upload them, etc. A CMS eliminates those needs. It’s a frame for all your content, and allows you to upload graphics and copy to it, and then converts it into a website for you.

Why do I need a Content Management System?

You don’t know code. And you don’t own photoshop. This is why in the past, you’ve hired a web designer, a web developer, a webmaster… they go by different names, but basically, the dude (rarely a chick) that charged you a lot, delivered the project late and
